Cashmere Group: Sire Reference Scheme - 2007 Sire Reference Scheme

After advertising for nominations for the third and final year of the Sire Referencing Scheme, six bucks were selected (table 1).

The AI programming started in mid March, where the does had CIDR's (a progesterone intravaginal device) inserted for oestrus synchronisation. The device was removed 21 days later. The does were also injected 48 hours prior to removal with 100IU of PMSG. As in 2006, the AI procedure was performed by Paul Hamilton using transcervical AI technique, a non surgical intrauterine insemination method.
